The glamour behind it

It is much more tough to break into the media industry, even tougher to become an actress and toughest to make it big into modeling.
These are the industries which look really glamorous from the outside but inside the job there is a different story.
By making it big, I mean coming in the 'A' category of models, actresses. news anchors , a writer etc.
My reason for this would be there is no formal training required to be a model, actress or news anchor. Yes formal training for these positions do exist, but are not mandatory to enter the profession( I write for my college newspaper and I am an industrial engineer).
Which is why to excel in these field you have to have exceptional talent and to really stick it out. As a full time writer you could be overtaken by a first time novelist any day just because he has the talent to write( the end product might be better than your even if you have done the masters in English..it doesn't make a difference).
To make things clear lets contrast this with a doctor's profession. No one can become a doctor just feel like curing people. You cannot without the endless years of training. But you can become a writer if you can communicate effectively, have a story/idea to share and that requires no training.
The same goes for acting/ modeling/ news anchors etc.
Think before joining the media industry; twice.

I remember reading somewhere, there is some marketing part to it. For some it will be luck, but for some it is their planned action.
Cannot quote right now, but think in 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad' - not sure though.
