Power corrupts

It's everywhere and it is pretty much true. Power corrupts.
In India corruption is probably there at every conceivable level right from the lowest to the highest.
In USA it is there but in huge forms. Corruption here is not overt but more covert. It is an art which is not obvious but has a finesse to it.. and is in bigger form than imaginable. Let's try and explain this better. A huge drug company might pay a senator millions of dollars to pass a law which in turn will benefit the drug company billions. Yes ,that is the magnitude of corruption which exists but it is done so skillfully that it is difficult to notice . It is pretty much as Dr Andrew Dale says" Corruption is everywhere. Power corrupts".
It definitely does.
Money and power can make a lot of people do a lot of things, and can change a lot of principles.

The glamour behind it

It is much more tough to break into the media industry, even tougher to become an actress and toughest to make it big into modeling.
These are the industries which look really glamorous from the outside but inside the job there is a different story.
By making it big, I mean coming in the 'A' category of models, actresses. news anchors , a writer etc.
My reason for this would be there is no formal training required to be a model, actress or news anchor. Yes formal training for these positions do exist, but are not mandatory to enter the profession( I write for my college newspaper and I am an industrial engineer).
Which is why to excel in these field you have to have exceptional talent and to really stick it out. As a full time writer you could be overtaken by a first time novelist any day just because he has the talent to write( the end product might be better than your even if you have done the masters in English..it doesn't make a difference).
To make things clear lets contrast this with a doctor's profession. No one can become a doctor just feel like curing people. You cannot without the endless years of training. But you can become a writer if you can communicate effectively, have a story/idea to share and that requires no training.
The same goes for acting/ modeling/ news anchors etc.
Think before joining the media industry; twice.

sustainence

What differentiates winners from losers?
To sustain things requires immense effort. It is always easy to start, always easy to begin anything but to sustain it requires effort which cannot be imagined at the beginning of the project.
The people who succeed in the long run have one thing in common: sustainence. It is the only thing that leaves the losers behind. To overcome the difficulties require strength which only winners possess.
Rowling did not fade after just giving us one good harry potter. She managed to sustain seven. When you read the first harry potter, it became an instant hit because of the the new world created, the spells ,the cauldrons, the works. In the subsequent books Rowling had to sustain the magical world(now old and exposed to) with renewed creativity, and her readership just grew.
The audience gets easily bored and things get overexposed.. but potter stood the test of sustainence.
It is the same for everyone else, its comparitively easier to win one grand slam than the further ones... comparitively easier to make a profit in the first year of business than improve on it.
That's the EXTRA which the winners put in.

Purity

The world lacks purity...big time.
People marry people for their money, people hunt for jobs which pay more, people make friends on the name of wanting mutual favours.
If you look around and try and spot the purity you will find where purity prevails everything follows, everything which the rest of the world runs after.
If you find a job just because you purely love doing it with all your soul there are very good chances that you will automatically be paid a lot for it. It may not come instantly but when it will, it will really come.
Marry a person just because you purely love the person and nothing else( by love i do not mean need) and you will have the best marriage ever.
Do stuff more purely than ever not for the results but because you love the process and the effort being put into it and there is no way way to lead a more fulfilling life.
It's magical the way things work then.
